How the process works
- First message. You send photographs (front, both profiles, basal and smiling) and a brief history — your concerns, any previous nasal surgery or trauma, breathing problems, athletic activity and allergies — on WhatsApp, directly to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Işık Erdal rather than a call centre.
- Personal review. Dr. Erdal reviews the photographs and history personally and replies with a technique recommendation, a candidacy assessment and an indicative cost. If surgery looks appropriate, a written plan follows: the approach (open or closed, with rationale), the grafts anticipated and the specific aesthetic goals, such as preserving a masculine profile.
- Consultation. The day before surgery, an in-person consultation in Istanbul covers physical examination, photography, final confirmation of the plan and informed consent. Suitability is always confirmed by personal consultation and examination. Some enquiries end without an operation being scheduled; that is a legitimate outcome of a consultation.
- Surgery and early recovery in Istanbul. Surgery is performed under general anaesthesia in an accredited hospital, and the external splint is removed at day 7. Typical length of stay for male rhinoplasty is 7–10 days; revision or complex cases may require longer. The patient journey and the recovery protocol set out each stage and its timing.
- Follow-up. Photo follow-up continues via WhatsApp at months 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 and 12, with direct WhatsApp access to Dr. Erdal throughout. Swelling settles gradually; the final result is typically visible at 12–18 months, and later in thick skin.
